MPs clash with police over Alcohol Bill
Members of Parliament sitting on the Health and Trade Committees have disagreed with submissions from the Uganda Police Force concerning the Alcoholic Drinks Control Bill 2023. The MPs stated that most of the concerns raised by the police in opposition to the bill were not supported by statistics and scientific proof. Police officials appearing before the committee said that if the bill were enacted in its current form, it would be difficult to implement.
