MPs task agencies to account for idle money
MPs on the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament say they would name some of the coordinators of some government agencies that have failed to absorb money meant to develop members of the public while funds lie idle or cannot be accounted for.
The lawmakers revealed this while meeting some of the heads of agencies who were appearing before the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament. PAC is scrutinizing the 2023/2024 Auditor General's report which found that a lot of money that goes to these entities is underutilised, leaving beneficiaries wanting.
