Officials worried at rising teen pregnancy in Lango
Government has been urged to increase access to emergency pills, as a measure of reducing teenage pregnancy among girls. According to the Executive Director of Reproductive Health Uganda, Jackson Chekweko, the government should channel the emergency pills through the grassroots and sell these side by side with condoms, in a bid to reduce teenage pregnancy among girls. The call came as Chekweko blamed the high rate of teenage pregnancy on the continuing lockdown in the country. In response, the ministry of health pledged to support plans to finalize and allocate funds for reproduction health commodities to improve adolescent health.
