School of Midwifery authorities call for increased funding
Administrators of Hoima School of Nursing and Midwifery want government to increase on the capitation grant it offers to the school in order to address some of the challenges that it’s facing. According to Mark Kalanzi the School’s Principal, the institution is currently grappling with low staffing compared to the large number of students in addition to out of date equipment which they can longer use to teach students. Kalanzi made the remarks during the commission of the newly acquired structures at the school which were constructed at a cost of 2.4 billion shillings secured from KCB bank. At this function, finance minister Matia Kasaija acknowledged the importance of training medical workers pledging to look into the issues that were raised by the school’s administrators.
