Uganda’s tourism sector records Shs 4.8 Trillion in 2024, shows strong recovery
Uganda’s tourism sector is making a strong recovery, earning a record Shs 4.8 trillion in 2024, as international arrivals rose to 1.37 million. The sector has now recovered to 89.2% of pre-pandemic levels, fueled by longer stays and higher spending by visitors. Tourism Permanent Secretary Doreen Katusiime stresses the need for Uganda to act quickly by improving infrastructure, creating better products, and marketing the country more aggressively.
