Mityana road to be fully re-opened today after collapse near Buyala
The Works State Minister, Musa Ecweru, has assured motorists that the Mityana Road, which suffered a collapse around Buyala Township this week, will be fully motorable by the end of today. The Ministry of Works and Transport began emergency repairs around Buyala, along Mityana Road, after a section of the road lost its integrity and caved in. Today, road works have reached advanced stages, with most of the soil and gravel already aligned and ready for grading. Ecweru did not say what caused the collapse of the road but admitted that his sector is struggling to keep up with the numerous cracks and collapses in roads and bridges across the country, mostly impacted by the intense rainy weather conditions.
