Leaders call for commercial farming in Uganda

At the UK–Uganda Agro-Industrialization Forum, leaders emphasized the urgent need to transform a sector that employs over 70% of Ugandans, contributes nearly a quarter of the country’s GDP, and generates nearly 44% of export earnings. The call was clear: agriculture must transition from survival farming to a competitive, commercial engine, according to officials from the Ministry of Trade, led by Trade State Minister Wilson Mbadhi.
