Government to establish regional cultural centers to safeguard heritage

The Ministry of Gender, Labour, and Social Development is set to establish regional cultural centres in an effort to promote culture and heritage in different cities.
This was revealed during the National Dissemination Dialogue on the UNESCO 2003 Convention on the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Kampala.
Meanwhile, UNESCO is calling on the government and all stakeholders to support the implementation of the convention and make a collective effort to protect the intangible cultural heritage of communities on the verge of extinction.
