NUP orders NRM supporters off their rally

Politicians are in a “rat race” for votes ahead of the 2026 general polls in January. The campaigns that have heat-up across the country end on the 13th of January 2026, two days to the polling day on 15th, January 2026. Today, NUP party leaders were almost lurching towards an angry showdown at their campaign rally in Kibuuli, Makindye, where a group of NRM supporters was ordered to leave to avoid a repeat of the Kiruhura district incident when NRM supporters attempted to confront the NUP group. Meanwhile, Muhammad Luswa Luwemba, an independent candidate, has promised better service delivery in during his door-to-door campaign in Kawempe North 1 constituency.
