Uganda Cancer Institute board inspects new regional cancer facility

The newly appointed Board of the Uganda Cancer Institute, led by Prof. Damalie Nakanjako, has embarked on a site visit to the upcoming state-of-the-art cancer facility, envisioned to become East Africa’s regional center for cancer care. Prof. Nakanjako reaffirmed the mission of the Uganda Cancer Institute to provide free, high-quality cancer treatment for all Ugandans, while noting that central government funding has also been channeled into establishing regional cancer centers to ease overcrowding at the Mulago-based facility.
