In 1995, Justine Nankya’s life was irrevocably changed when she was wrongfully sentenced to death for a crime she did not commit. Nankya was convicted of armed robbery and sent to Luzira Women’s Prison. Her troubles began when she coincidentally met her cousin in a taxi after spending a day in Kasese town buying merchandise for her shop.
