NUP accuses police of targeting opposition campaigns

A day after police warned National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi against holding campaign processions, citing public safety concerns, the party has responded. Police stated that the move aims to reduce road accidents and enforce electoral laws. Still, the party claims it is part of a broader effort to suppress the opposition ahead of the 2026 general elections.
