$21M FOR VANILLA VALUE CHAIN: Targeting 350 tonnes by 2025
Uganda's Vanilla Sub sector is now set for a boost with a $21.1m intervention fund aimed at scaling up production to at least 350 Metric Tons by 2025. The United States Department for Agriculture is the key financier which will be channelled through the Catholic Relief Services to agribusiness actors in the Vanilla value chain. Its target, among others, seeks to raise at least 160,000 farmers engaged in cultivating the lucrative cash crop to promote 850 small and medium enterprises in the Vanilla trade.
