OIL & GAS SECTOR: Gov’t assures on first oil in 2025
Energy minister Ruth Nankabirwa has told a press briefing on the oil and gas sector this morning, that the country will see first oil by 2025. She adds civil works at the Tilenga Industrial area are 99.7% complete, with the construction of the Central Processing Facility ongoing. On the EACOP she said, experts in the UK and Tanzania, are carrying out the engineering, procurement, construction management, and commissioning activities. Meanwhile, Uganda is still waiting for the finalization of negotiations for key commercial and production-sharing agreements on the oil refinery which began early this year and thereafter project implementation.
