Former operation Shujaa commander tells his experience
The inadequate number of troops undertaking operation Shujaa against rebels of the Allied Democratic Force in eastern DR Congo, is the biggest challenge affecting the operation, according to Maj. Gen. Dick Olum, the outgoing commander of the Mountain Division of the UPDF. In an exclusive interview with NTV, the four star general said much as Uganda and DR Congo governments agreed to deploy enough soldiers to the operation, the plan has not been executed. Gen. Olum's term will end this week after President Museveni appointed him to represent Uganda in the South Sudan Stabilisation Mechanism.Maj. Gen Richard Otto will replace him.
