NRM caucus to meet over proposed UPDF Act amendments
The government has withdrawn the Uganda Peoples Defence Force Amendment Bill 2024 from parliament, saying the intention is to enrich it and comply with the Supreme Court ruling which called for amendments of the UPDF Act to allow the Court Martial to try Civilians. But some MPs argue that amendments should not come to challenge the Supreme Court ruling, adding that such amendments will be illegal.
