5 people picked up for encroaching on a wetland
Five people have been apprehended for encroaching on a wetland as officials in Kabarole district give an order for those using these swamps for economic activities to leave in 21 days. The operation was conducted by the Kabarole Resident District Commissioner Festus Bandeeba, police and environment officials in the region. According to Festus Bandeeba the Kabarole RDC, people are migrating to Kabarole to grow rice in its wetlands. The operation was held in the Hakibaale sub-county.
