Adventist faithful gather to mark 97 years in Uganda
Seventh-day Adventist faithful gathered on Saturday at Kalamba village in Mityana to mark the 97th anniversary of the start of the faith in Uganda, as well as the 150th anniversary of the faith in the world. The celebrations started with a marching band, which led a procession that commenced a special service. Pr. Dr. Musa Mitekaro, who is the secretary of the governing council in Africa, was the day's main preacher, who urged the faithful to love their faith even more, so the word can reach more people. The faithful commended the relatives of the late Henry Guweddeko and Simeon Golola, who were founders of the faith. The congregation held a fundraiser to raise money to build a new church in memory of the founding fathers of the faith.
