Chaos reigns at DP Delegates’ Conference as Sebamala candidacy is blocked
The Democratic Party's Delegates' Conference once again descended into chaos as the electoral commission maintained the exclusion of Bukoto Central MP Richard Sebamala from the list of candidates for party President General. The electoral commission excluded the names of candidates Richard Sebamala and Vincent Kawere from Makindye Sabagabo for unknown reasons. The duo protested the decision, arguing that they had paid the set nominal fees of 500,000 shillings. They are now demanding a refund of their money.
In the scuffle, Mukono South MP Fred Kayondo, who is the chief supporter of presidential contestant Richard Sebalama, was rushed to the hospital after being badly beaten, before calm was restored, allowing for voting under tight security.
