CIVILIANS IN MILITARY COURTS: UPDF hands case files to office of DPP
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions is in the hold of several case files of individuals who were undergoing trial at the General Court Martial before it was stripped of the trial powers. Sources at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions made the confirmation which is now backed by the Deputy Attorney General, Jackson Kafuuzi. Many of the individuals including Dr Kizza Besigye who are in jail on orders of the military courts could have their trial kick-started in civilian courts following the development.
