East Africa pushes for shared digital infrastructure
Turning to internet connectivity, the East African region has some of the highest rates, prompting calls for a regional digital infrastructure to be shared across member states. This infrastructure would harmonize payment systems, internet costs, data sharing, and more. However, for this to be achieved, states must rise above the politics that have affected other areas of the federation.
