Fort Portal city starts general clean up campaign
Tooro Kingdom, together with Fort Portal City leaders and development partners, has launched a "Keep Fort Portal City Clean" campaign titled "Baragira Kiki" to improve sanitation in the area and attract more tourists to stay longer. The campaign aims to clean the city at the beginning of every month and was initiated by King Oyo to improve sanitation and reduce sanitation-related diseases as part of his 25-year development plan for Tooro Kingdom. Fort Portal was elevated to tourism city status in 2020 to promote tourism in the country, which is an obligation for city authorities to keep the area clean and attract tourists to stay longer, generating income.
