Government warns institutions on service standards, threatens budget cuts
The Head of Public Service and Secretary to the Cabinet, Lucy Nakyobe, has issued a stern warning to government institutions that fail to implement clear service delivery standards, threatening to withhold their budgets. Nakyobe emphasized that these standards are essential for enhancing public service efficiency and accountability. Notably, the Speaker of Parliament has been informed of this directive, underscoring the government’s commitment to improving public service engagement with citizens. This latest measure is part of a broader government push to hold public servants accountable for the quality of service they provide to the public, aiming to create a more responsive and transparent government.
