King Oyo condemns encroachment, promotes conservation tourism
Tooro Kingdom's King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru IV has strongly condemned the encroachment of conservation areas, labeling it "greedy" and calling on Ugandans to embrace domestic conservation tourism as a way to foster a deeper understanding of its importance. Speaking after a gorilla tracking expedition in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the monarch highlighted the crucial role of Uganda's national parks and wildlife reserves, particularly as vital wildlife corridors, and urged the Uganda Wildlife Authority to rediscover and revitalize these protected areas.
