Minister Kenneth Omona accused of land grabbing in Nwoya district
The State Minister for Northern Uganda, Kenneth Omona, has been accused of encroaching on and attempting to grab over 1,326 acres of land. The family of the late Ronaldo Olanya Lapar accuses the minister of encroaching on and forcefully tilling their ancestral land located in Laliya, Agung Village, Anaka Sub County, Nwoya District. Lapar’s surviving sons claim their father acquired the land in the early '60s, but it was underutilized due to recurrent attacks by stray elephants from Murchison Falls National Game Park, which borders the area.
