Minister Tumwebaze urges local leaders to support coffee farmer registration.
The Minister for Agriculture Frank Tumwebaze has asked local leaders in coffee-growing districts to support the government's programme of having all coffee farmers registered. He says this is aimed at ensuring the country produces quality coffee that can easily penetrate the global market and attract premium prices. The Uganda Coffee Development Authority which has since been moved to the Ministry of Agriculture has been registering coffee farmers and it will continue to do so until President Museveni ascents to the National Coffee Amendment Bill.
