Museveni, MPs agree to retain Uganda Coffee Development Authority for three years
President Museveni, along with Members of Parliament from three committees working on the rationalization of state agencies, has agreed to maintain the Uganda Coffee Development Authority as an autonomous entity for the next three years. This decision allows stakeholders time to assess how it might eventually be integrated into the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries. The MPs present at the meeting reaffirmed to the President the importance of keeping UCDA independent, as it is crucial for overseeing coffee regulation in Uganda. However, despite this temporary agreement, questions remain unresolved. NTV has learned that the President has called for a law that would dissolve the Uganda Coffee Development Authority, but this law would only come into effect after three years.
