NUP distances itself from 2 parliamentary committee heads
The National Unity Platform Party has washed its hands of the leadership of Parliament's Government Assurances Committee after the house declined to accept new leaders. The party, through its chief whip John Baptist Nambeshe, had sought to change the leadership of Dr. Abed Bwanika and his deputy Joyce Bagala, replacing them with Joseph Ssewungu and Bethel Naluyima. With the house refusing to accept the change, the Leader of Opposition, Joel Ssenyonyi, says they have concluded that Dr. Bwanika and Bagala are in cahoots with the government on many fronts.
