NUP supporters sentenced to 3 months for overthrow attempt
The General Court Martial sitting at Makindye, in Kampala District, has sentenced 16 NUP supporters to three months and 22 days in prison for attempting to violently overthrow the government of Uganda. Last week, the NUP supporters, who have spent almost four years in prison, expressed interest in pleading guilty to charges of treachery and unlawful possession of explosives because they had been misled into committing the said offenses.
