Oil Discovery Boosts Tourism: Hoima City chosen for International Tourism Day
The discovery of oil and gas in the Albertine region has boosted tourism in the region, according to Gaddafi Ssali, a senior tourism officer at the Ministry of Tourism.
He says the trend prompted the ministry to select Hoima City to host this year’s International Tourism Day on September 29. The event will involve various activities including a carnival dubbed Hoima Oil City Carnival. Ssali encouraged the people of Bunyoro to embrace tourism because it takes care of everyone.
