Seven Chinese arrested for illegal sand mining in Lwera
Police have arrested seven Chinese nationals for allegedly mining sand in Lwera on Masaka Road without clearance from relevant authorities. In an early morning operation, police raided the site of Double Q Company, whose managers are accused of destroying the wetland. In recent weeks, the Police and the National Environment Management Authority have been carrying out operations to evict wetland encroachers.
