Stakeholders agree on steps to rehabilitate Isimba hydropower plant
Stakeholders involved in the Isimba Hydropower Plant’s construction and operations have agreed on several critical steps for rehabilitating the dam’s spillway and buffer blocks. However, the question of who will bear the $150 million cost for these repairs remains unresolved. The defects have been attributed to poor workmanship by the contractor, China International Water and Electric Corporation.
