UPDF Amendment Bill ready with a tougher section
Parliament is set to debate the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) Amendment Bill today, a proposed law that significantly broadens the scope of military jurisdiction and court martial powers in the country. Central to the bill is the introduction of Section 117A to the principal Act, a sweeping provision that extends military law to civilians under certain conditions, including those found in possession of military equipment.
