UPDF spokesperson lauds Kibuku residents for preserving wetlands
UPDF spokesperson Brig General Felix Kulayigye has asked the people of Kibuku and Bukedi region to enhance their work of preserving wetlands, while also stopping the growing of rice there. He explained that this practice was behind climate change activities there, partly exemplified by flooding as well as dry spells. His call came as he toured Kibuku district where locals are celebrating the outcomes of the Parish Development Model, which they say has led to progress in the area. Brig Kulayogye’s call was echoed by Kibuku County MP Herbert Kinobere, that the progress there would lead reveal that recently income income-generating activities had led to improved education, health and living standards.
