Promoter Eddie Bazira elected Boxing Commission President
Boxing Promoter Eddie Bazira has been elected as the new Uganda Professional Boxing Commission president after serving as an interim for four months following the retirement of former president Salim Uhuru stepped down. In the election held at New Obligato in Kampala, Bazira was elected with others, including the only woman on the committee, Grace Dudi as treasurer, vice president Simon Katongole, vice technical Abbey Mugayi among others.
The committee will on Thursday meet the National Council of Sports leaders to a pave the way for a harmonious running of their different roles under one umbrella with the amateur ranks as required by the new sports law.
