Presidential candidates are crisscrossing the country, trying to win over Ugandans and earn the mandate to lead. NRM candidate President Yoweri Museveni has visited a few districts, presenting his manifesto and asking for another term in office. NUP’s Robert Kyagulanyi has been campaigning in Busoga, sharing his vision for why he should lead the country. Mugisha Muntu has been active in Kampala. Looking at the manifestos of all these candidates, they are impressive, full of compelling language. If even one manifesto were fully implemented, the country could see significant improvements. On The Spot, we examine these manifestos and ask: are Ugandans truly paying attention? Patrick Kamara speaks with seasoned politicians to get their views.
