The Uganda Red Cross Society and the Ministry of Education and Sports have unveiled a five-year partnership to promote first aid service delivery and improve school health standards nationwide.
The program will establish and train first aid teams in both public and private schools, equipping teachers and learners with lifesaving skills. It will also integrate menstrual health support to improve the retention of girls in schools.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Uganda Red Cross Secretary General Robert Kwesiga emphasized the need for a holistic approach to school health, ensuring that no girl misses school because of her period.
