National Unity Platform presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu today campaigned in the districts of Kyankwanzi and Kiboga. In Kyankwanzi, a district known as the home of the NRM Caucus and the National Leadership Institute, NUP leaders mobilized supporters, encouraging them to see their vote as a means to end what they described as decades of NRM dominance, where major policy decisions are made and approved in Parliament primarily through numerical strength rather than legislative merit.
While in Kiboga, Kyagulanyi pledged to ensure that revenues and benefits from the country’s oil resources are extended to local communities to improve service delivery and livelihoods. Unlike previous campaign days that were marred by heavy police deployment and diversions, today’s movement was relatively smooth.
NTV’s David Ijjo, who is following the NUP campaign trail, now reports.
