The Parliamentary Committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities, and State Enterprises (COSASE) has halted its investigation into the circumstances under which businessman Hamis Kigundu was allocated the Nakivubo drainage channel for development.
The suspension of the investigation follows a directive from the Speaker of Parliament, who informed the committee that she had appointed a five-member team to carry out a fact-finding mission on the matter.
However, the Speaker’s decision has raised concerns among some COSASE members, who are questioning the legality of her intervention.
