There is general consensus that the desecration of the 1995 Constitution began in 2005, with the amendment that removed presidential term limits to allow President Museveni to contest for a third term. This came after Members of Parliament were allegedly bribed with Shs5 million each. As President Museveni now seeks to extend his grip on power to over forty years, we examine how the removal of term limits unfolded.
