IMPORT SUBSTITUTION: Uganda saves $50m in imported industrial sugar
Uganda could save up to 50 million dollars annually from the import of industrial sugar following an investment by the Rai industrial group under Kinyara works, what officials say is the first industrial sugar plant in the region. President Museveni pledged to protect the business by stoping imports into the country of the product.
