Lawmakers say UBOS should deploy officials at village level
Members of Parliament on the Budget Committee have raised concerns regarding data provided by the Uganda Bureau of Statistics and its impact on planning processes.
The legislators argue that conducting a population census every ten years may not be sufficient since the country experiences annual shifts in demographics and information.
They are asking the government to allocate more money to the Uganda Bureau of Statistics to allow them to deploy staff in every sub-county. The funds will also be used to collect and update data annually, with an annual comprehensive compilation.
