Ministry of Internal Affairs consults NGOS on new regulations
The government, through the Uganda NGO Bureau, has launched national consultations to reform the laws and policies that govern the NGO sector. The goal is to cultivate good working relationships and promote compliance and accountability within the sector. This development comes at a time when the NGO sector has been complaining about mistreatment and many tiresome processes that negatively impact their work. The Bureau secretary Dr Stephen Okello says that the process will help develop policies but also an environment that allows mutual recognition and cooperation.
