Banana bunchy top virus outbreak confirmed in Kasese
The National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO) has confirmed an outbreak of the banana bunchy top virus in Kasese district in southwestern Uganda. This plant disease is said to have originated from the neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo. Authorities warn that it could greatly affect the farmers in Kasese if its spread is not cut immediately.
