Cabinet to amend UPDF Act for trained lawyers as court martial chairpersons
Information Minister Dr. Chris Baryomunsi has revealed that the Cabinet has resolved to amend the UPDF Act to ensure that future Chairpersons of the General Court Martial are trained lawyers. The move follows a Cabinet meeting held at State House, Entebbe, on Monday to discuss amendments aimed at aligning the law with the recent Supreme Court ruling on the trial of civilians in military courts.
