Court orders Interpol to arrest the ULS president Isaac Ssemakadde
Buganda Road Court has ordered the International Police, commonly known as Interpol, to arrest Isaac Ssemakadde, the President of the Uganda Law Society. Ssemakadde's whereabouts are unknown at the moment. The international arrest warrant was issued by Chief Magistrate Ronald Kayizzi at the request of private prosecutors Tonny Tumukunde and Joshua Byamazima. The two lawyers earlier asked the court to arrest their leader on charges of insulting the modesty of the DPP, Jane Frances Abodo. Today, the lawyers applied before court to have Ssemakadde arrested by the International Police; a request Magistrate Kayizzi granted after being satisfied that the leader of the New Radical Bar is on the run outside the country. The Magistrate said he is satisfied that Ssemakadde is on the run outside the country and hence ordered Interpol to arrest him on sight.
