Fort Portal Hospital Unveils UGX 3.7 billion lab to Improve disease diagnosis
A satellite laboratory valued at Shs 3.7 billion has been constructed at Fort Portal Regional Referral Hospital to enable the facility to offer standardized disease diagnosis. According to Dr. Kalisa Kyebambe, the Deputy Director of Fort Portal Regional Referral Hospital, the region, being at the border with DR Congo, has faced challenges with disease outbreaks, adding that transporting samples to Kampala and Entebbe delays patients' access to urgent treatment.
