Gov't to enforce annual vehicle inspections after SGS takeover
The Ministry of Works and Transport has announced plans to improve vehicle roadworthiness by enforcing mandatory annual checks. This follows the ministry's takeover of vehicle inspection centers previously operated by the Franco-Belgian firm SGS. While SGS set up the centers in 2015, they were unable to conduct inspections due to the lack of legal instruments from Parliament. More details in this report.
