She has made a name for herself and earned favor from the president, with continued access to him. The then agile young MP, Evelyn Anite, was the first to urge the president to stand as a sole candidate amidst a shaky political situation before the 2016 general elections. Now the State Minister for Investment and Privatization, Anite has some regrets but told NTV that she will not be contesting in 2026. Sudhir Byaruhanga spoke to Anite.
