Livestock theft forces Kamuli families to share homes with animals
The fear of livestock theft has forced families in the Northern Division of Kamuli Municipality, Kamuli District, to share their homes with goats and cows every night. Some of the stolen cattle were purchased using Parish Development Model (PDM) funds, leaving victims worried about how they are supposed to repay loans for animals they no longer have. Now, frustrated and desperate, community members are calling on leaders to intervene before they are forced to take matters into their own hands. Norbert Atukunda brings us this report.
